Lillie D. Shockney is a well-known medical expert in the fields of breast cancer, patient navigation, cancer survivorship, patient-centered care, end-of-life planning and care, and preservation of patients’ quality of life. She holds a clinical specialization in breast cancer care with a research focus on the preservation of metastatic breast cancer patients’ quality of life.
A two-time breast cancer survivor herself, Lillie works tirelessly to improve the care and support of breast cancer patients around the world. In addition to being named a Distinguished Service Faculty Chair and holding a full professorship in surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, one of Lillie’s proudest accomplishments is the co-founding of the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+), which has over 9,000 members nationwide.
