Ascension Medical Group Our Mission in Motion is a mobile mammography outreach that brings screening mammograms to 3,000 women annually where they live and work. With an overarching goal to mitigate breast cancer deaths in Middle TN, Our Mission in Motion increases early detection through access and affordability to screening mammography, therefore decreasing the potential of late stage breast cancer diagnosis. OMIM strategically targets low-income, uninsured, and underinsured women.
With the National BreastCancer Foundation’s support OMIM will provide no-cost screening mammograms and one-on-one breast health education to 239 uninsured women and navigate those with a suspicious finding to medical facilities for follow-up diagnostics and treatment when necessary. The partnership program with the National Breast Cancer Foundation strategically targets uninsured women of Middle Eastern and Hispanic ethnicity and uninsured African American women at three community health centers.
